Playa de Las Americas

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and it is definitely the best island if you ask me. It is the Canary Island that is most visited by Spain's islands off Africa. The island has the best climate in the world for people with physical concerns. Actually the island is called Tenerife. The resort is now so large it is run by two different councils, Adeje and Arona. The division between them is the gorge at the side of the Hotel Park Troya. To confuse things even more, the resort is split into three different zones: Playa de las Americas, San Eugenio,Toviscas.these are three areas make Playa de las Americas ideal holiday location.

Playa de las Americas is the main tourist resort in Tenerife attracting over 2.25 million visitors every year. Transfer time form the main airport is a little over 30 minutes. As you enter the resort your first impression may be that of an overgrown quarry with a rash of building sites, and still the planners plan and the builders build. Most of the new development today is taking place towards the western end, in the Fanabe district of the resort. The reason for this being the eastern edge has now merged with Los Cristianos, any further south would be in the Atlantic ocean, and the north is bordered by the islands central mountain range.

The resort has a number of beaches with unusual black volcanic sands, all of which meet European Commission cleanliness standards. However, be warned the black sand retains the suns heat longer so it will burn your feet very easily. A wide promenade runs along the full stretch of the resort, continuing for several miles right into the heart of Los Cristianos. Here you will find many traders selling "genuine" designer T shirts and watches for less than the price of a cup of tea, One stretch of the promenade from the Hotel Bouganville Playa to the marina at Puerto Colon is worth an mention, this is known as the "Geranium promenade".

Playa de las Americas is a popular tourist destination with a lot of development happening in the area. It's located on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, and it's about a 30-minute drive from the main airport. It's located in the western part of the resort, near the Fanabe district, and is bordered by Los Cristianos to the east, the Atlantic Ocean to the south, and the central mountain range to the north. Despite its reputation as an overgrown quarry with building sites, it's apparently still a popular destination for tourists, with over 2.25 million visitors coming to the resort every year.
